An industrial gas plant suddenly exploded on Thursday, December 24, in the industrial town of Nnewi, Anambra state. Over 100 people were reportedly burnt to death.The explosion occurred at Chikason Group gas plant in Nnewi just few hours to Christmas. According to an eyewitness, the incident started at about 11am and was caused by an explosion that happened because a truck discharged its contents without waiting for the mandatory cooling time. A Nigerian woman who burned a man’s legs and genitals with a hot iron during $ex has been jailed for nine years.Kenya Alozie, 31, was having $ex with a man in his 30s at an address in Plumstead, south-east London, on May 15 when she used a hot iron to a$$ault him in what police describe as a “calculated attack”. – She also attacked the man with a broken bottle causing him a number of serious injuries including deep cuts and burns. He has since undergone a number of hospital treatments and surgery. Alozie, of no fixed abode, was sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court on Tuesday after being found guilty of GBH with intent. At the time of the attack, Alozie’s student visa, that she obtained to study at Coventry University, was due to expire and she was due to return to her family in Nigeria at the end of May. Abia State Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu is bereaved, his lovely mother Deaconess Betsy Ikpeazu died at the morning hours of Sunday at University Teaching Hospital Ituku-Ozara, Enugu. She was 87 years old. Late Mrs Ikpeazu, a registered nurse lived with a valve in her heart for 20years.
